I welcome inquiries concerning commissions, whether it is a large work on canvas for a big room or a pet portrait for an intimate space. Below are some examples of commissions I have done for clients. Some are site specific large paintings and others are ideas for wedding gifts, or rendition of your African safari photo. I am comfortable working from the photographs that you send me (which will be returned). Because I cannot always be lucky enough to meet the animal in person, any stories you can share regarding the animal's personality is helpful.
I will first discuss with you what type of likeness you would like, i.e. the degree of funky-ness. I then send you a sketch or two for approval. Colors, content, composition, etc. are mutually decided by you and me. I find e mail is a good way to communicate, but the phone is acceptable also (540-463-2255).
Prices start at $300 for an image size of 9" x 13.5" (matted or framed to 16" x 20") and go up from there. There is a $50 non-refundable fee for the preliminary sketches. There is no obligation to buy the finished piece.
